Andrea & Brendan – Winter Proposal

Andrea & Brendan – Winter Proposal

I’m a sucker for a good proposal story.  Brendan emailed me with a fantastic plan: a winter picnic at a special ravine location.  We didn’t have a lot of opportunity to communicate since he was driving to Wisconsin to pick up Andrea just days before the winter proposal.  He sent me some photos and directions to the location and I headed down into the ravine with my second shooter Sam a couple of days before to scout it out and make a plan for the shoot.

Here’s Sam, pretending to be proposed to so I could figure out my angles….

On the day of the shoot we got to the location, got all set up, and then watched as Brendan & Andrea walked in the OPPOSITE direction that we were expecting to!  It threw us for a bit of a loop, and we literally almost walked right into them as we were crossing paths in the river valley. We managed to make it back to the right spot in time, and without Andrea suspecting a thing.  Sam found a great hiding spot under a bridge, and I tried to look inconspicuous just standing around in the ravine.

Andrea & Brendan are SO incredibly sweet together, and Sam and I had the best time sharing in their special proposal.   Andrea is from Peru and I have to applaud her for being so willing to have a photo shoot in the cold and snow!  We wish them a beautiful and happy life together!
