best friends photo shoot

I’ll admit, I was a little bit intimidated to shoot 12 women!  Large groups are always a challenge to shoot, because the goal is to show connectedness and affection between everyone, while giving them their own personal space and personality within the photo.  For this best friends shoot we were initially aiming to go outdoors, but Mother Nature had other plans, and I suggested we head to the U of A to have enough space and a modern backdrop for this group.  These ladies are FUN. I think they were a little unsure at first when I did individual photos of everyone as a warm-up, but by the end they were cramming into an elevator and climbing around on stairs!  We had a great time.  This supportive and lively group of women was an absolute delight to photograph, and it just proves that you don’t always need a specific reason to have a photoshoot, it’s enough to just want portraits of and with the ones you love.  We all go through challenging times in our lives, sometimes devastating. Having a support system is the only way to get through it. That’s exactly what this group is.

Thanks to each and everyone one of these women for trusting me and for being so entertaining!!
