It wasn’t until I arrived at Jesse & Cheryl’s ceremony that I realized that both Christy and I went to university with him, and it wasn’t until they came to see their photos that he realized he’d gone to high school with my sister-in-law. So it’s a pretty small world out there!
Christy spent the morning with Cheryl – she really embraced Jesse’s culture, and looked incredible in her wedding outfit.
Jesse got ready among family and friends. I realized during the morning that I know an awful lot about Sikh weddings at this point. Jesse was asking for a bit of advice on how certain things happened during the ceremony, and actually looked to ME for advice! I’m happy to help make my couples and their families comfortable with the experience that I’ve accumulated.
I love this little peek that Cheryl took as she was seated.
Rain? Moving on…
Fortunately the rain eased off in the evening and we were treated to the most beautiful evening.
Several delegates from the Netherlands attended the wedding. Cheryl spent time there on a student exchange many years ago, and made such an impression that many of her host family and friends wanted to celebrate with her. They brought some special gift for her from the Netherlands.
Congratulations Jesse & Cheryl!
Interestingly enough, on the same weekend that I was with Jesse & Cheryl, Michael was photographing another fusion wedding…that one will be up on the blog shortly!
