The Mini Fishers – Edmonton Birth Photography

The Mini Fishers – Edmonton Birth Photography

I’ve never done birth photography before. And technically, I still haven’t! When my good friend Jenna told me that she was pregnant after 4 years of trying, and pursuing IVF, I was THRILLED. When she asked me to come and take photos of her birth, I was anxious. Not because I’m scared of birth, but just because I was asked to be a part of something SO significant. I wasn’t worried I was going to screw it up, and I wasn’t worried they wouldn’t love the photos. I was anxious in the same way that I am before every wedding I photograph – I’m there for one of the most significant moments in that couple’s life together. I couldn’t wait to meet those little babies.

These little boys were born via C-section, and I had the privilege of being one of the first people to meet them. I arrived at the hospital shortly after their birth, and was there for the first few moments they had with mom and dad. I cried the second I entered the room. My friend has TWO BABIES! I was filled with warmth and joy, and just went right into work mode. It was a really great experience to shoot something out of the box for me, with the motivation of helping my good friend remember the first moments of their boys’ lives. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed making them!
