Naveen & Shakti compliment each other perfectly. There was a crazy energy that ran through the wedding, all of their family and friends couldn’t help but dance and smile the whole day.
Shakti loves trains and is a systems engineer for the C-Train in Calgary, so there was no question about incorporating trains into their wedding photos.
Naveen looked absolutely gorgeous (with help from one of our favourite makeup arists Sunita Sumaru!)
The negotiations at the Doli took on a hilarious turn that I have never seen before. The bride’s side had failed to acquire Shakti’s shoes at the Gurdwara. They tried to convince me to trick him into taking them off during the couple’s portraits but I did not want to be an accomplice. When he arrived at Naveen’s parents’ house, Shakti took his shoes off and left them on the car, essentially giving them away to the other side so that he could buy them back.
Naveen and Shakti got ready for the reception in the Queen Elizabeth II suite at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald. It is huge! Over 2100 square feet. It was a beautiful way to kick-start an evening of elegance.
To Naveen and Shakti’s delight, their friends did an excellently choreographed Bollywood dance.
I love these pictures that our second shooter Melissa got of people partying it up to the bhangra music at the dance.
