Suman & Jag and their families have been incredible to work with and I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding in Mexico. I know that every detail is going to be perfect! Until that destination wedding, please enjoy these photos from their sikh engagement party a few months ago. I love when I get to work at Meridian Banquet Hall – the food and service and atmosphere is always excellent!
If you’ve ever been to a Sikh engagement party you’ll know that it’s a wonderful celebration of two families who will soon join together with the marriage of their children! Although often the couples have already made a commitment to each other and started planning their wedding, this celebration is the formal announcement of their engagement to each other. Each side brings gifts and blessings to the bride and groom, and everyone enjoys a fabulous party.
Suman & Jag’s wedding story begins with Jag proposal on Valentine’s Day – (for those non-Punjabi Shandro Photo fans Shaadi means marriage/marry/wedding) Of course she said yes!
Suman & Jag’s engagement party was in April of this year, and on a very cold day. We had thought about doing their portraits outdoors, but instead decided to use the beautiful decor and flowers of their reception for their photos. Why not take advantage of what’s already there! Sometimes as a wedding photographer I have to improvise in order to not only get the best photos of my clients but also to ensure they’re comfortable and have fun! And how can you go wrong with an entire dessert room!!
