I was beyond thrilled when Talina’s sister (and talented wedding planner) Ashley asked me if I was available for Talina & Brad’s mountain wedding. I’ve grown to become friends with Ashley over the last few years of working together (and tackling motherhood together!), and I knew if Talina was anything like her it would be a beautiful wedding. Last fall when Talina & Brad came down from Fort McMurray for their engagement session, I was delighted to meet them. They are the epitome of a wonderful couple. Talina is petite and sweet, Brad is tall dark and handsome. They are completely devoted to each other, and have made it through a long distance relationship and moving cities. Family is very important to these two – there were lots of kids and babies at the wedding!
The officiant at the wedding read a lovely apache blessing that I want to share with you:
Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness,
for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons,
but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in the
journey ahead and through all the years,
May happiness be your companion and
your days together be good and long upon the earth.
Thanks to Tessa for second shooting with me!
I got down to Canmore a bit early, and had some time to do a bit of hiking – I found the perfect secluded spot for Talina & Brad’s first look before the ceremony.
Brad had an awesome way to convince the flower girl and ring bearer to come down the aisle…
I’m only 5’2″ (well, almost) and sometimes I have an image in mind but have to find creative ways to make it happen. I couldn’t quite get high enough up to take this photo, but I taught groomsmen Victor how to use my camera and used his height to my advantage! Thanks man!
