I was catching up with Joelle the other day and it reminded me that I hadn’t yet blogged their fall couples portraits!  I’m happily caught up on all me editing….so blogging is definitely a priority for the winter! Joelle & Cam are getting married next year, and I couldn’t be happier for them.  Before their engagement Joelle asked me to do some photos of the two of them together, just to celebrate the love they have for each other and their life together.  Portraits sessions don’t have to be just for engagements!  I’m a firm believer that there are a lot of stages in any relationship that can be celebrated – the first date, the first time you say I love you, even your first fight…all steps that you take in your relationship to bring you closer together.

Seeing these two together always makes me smile. Joelle is so bubbly and personable, and Cam absolutely adores her.  We took advantage of some beautiful fall light in Edmonton’s river valley for their fall couples portraits.  Joelle is the bright design mind and owner of Hitched by Joelle – a local wedding planner.  (I also did her headshots for her website!) She’s such a stunner herself, and has a beautiful sense of style.  Check out her website for all of her services, from day-of wedding coordination to full planning, Joelle is an excellent choice to make sure your wedding day runs smoothly.

Joelle & Cam is another great example of styling for your portrait session – I love how Joelle embraced the season with her cozy scarf and fall boots, and Cam’s outfit complements her perfectly.  Now that we have a bit of snow on the ground I wish we could go back to warm fall days!  What’s your favourite season for photos? Comment below – when would you want your engagement session to be?
