Edmonton Wedding Photographer – Shandro Photo
Amal & Saqib traveled from the UK over the winter holiday to celebrate their wedding with family and friends here in Edmonton. As with every winter wedding here in Edmonton we cross our fingers at the time of booking and hope that a snow storm doesn’t develop the day of the wedding. Outdoor winter wedding photos are so beautiful…but not so easy to shoot if it’s blizzarding! (And contrary to what my spell-check thinks…blizzarding is a word!)
Amal & Saqib got ready together at a friend’s home here in Edmonton and we took their wedding photos around the University of Alberta before they shared a private reception with family and friends.

Thanks to my second shooter Bruce for being awesome as usual!
Tip for brides:
One of my favourite things about being an Edmonton wedding photographer is that we never know what we’re going to get. Weather has a way of changing at the last minute! I always recommend that my couples book an indoor backup location for their wedding portraits and family photos just in case the weather isn’t cooperating. Imagine having a torrential downpour! It’s not always easy for a wedding photographer to come up with a last minute indoor backup location on the day of the wedding, so I recommend having something booked just in case! There are many locations in Edmonton where you can do wedding photos, such at City Hall and the Art Gallery of Alberta, but you need to call ahead to book. Even if you don’t end up taking any photos there, you’ll still have peace of mind on your wedding day knowing that you’re prepared.
